The Telegram username market on Fragment remained in an active phase during the period from May 16 to May 22, 2026, but the structure of the week changed noticeably. The number of transactions increased, while total trading volume in TON declined, and the median price dropped from 114 to 84 TON.

The main difference this week: the market became more mass-market and more liquid, but less premium in terms of average transaction structure. Capital shifted toward 5-character usernames, 6-character usernames became the most liquid segment by number of sales, and 4-character usernames preserved their premium status, but with fewer transactions.

The market did not move into a weak phase. On the contrary, the number of transactions increased to 7 444. At the same time, total volume declined to 625,600 TON. This means buyer activity became broader, but the average transaction mix became cheaper.

The main signal of the week: capital was no longer concentrated only in 4-character usernames. The 5-character segment became the main center of volume, 6-character usernames generated the highest number of sales, and 9-character usernames unexpectedly strengthened because of several large deals.

Key market indicators

  • number of transactions: 7,444

  • total trading volume: 625,600 TON (≈ $1,189,000)

  • median price: 84 TON

  • TON price at the end of the period: $1.90

The week was stronger than the previous one in terms of transaction count, but weaker in terms of total volume in TON and median price. This shows that the market became more active in mass-market segments, while the share of expensive premium sales declined.

It is especially important that the median price fell to 84 TON. This does not necessarily mean weaker demand. Rather, the structure of the week shifted toward a larger number of low- and mid-priced deals. Unlike some previous weeks, the market was not supported only by the 4-character segment.

Brief summary

  • the number of transactions increased by around 25%

  • total trading volume in TON declined by around 8%

  • the median price fell noticeably

  • the market became more mass-market and more liquid

  • 5-character usernames became the main center of volume

  • 6-character usernames became the most liquid segment by number of sales

  • 4-character usernames preserved their premium status, but their impact on total volume became weaker

  • 9-character usernames unexpectedly strengthened because of large sales

After the previous week, the market did not collapse. Instead, it changed structure. Instead of a smaller number of expensive deals, we saw more sales, but with a lower median price. This looks like an expansion of trading activity, not an exit of buyers from the market.

Market structure by username length

5-character usernames — main center of capital this week

  • transactions: 1 690

  • average price: 115 TON

  • trading volume: 194,300 TON

  • volume share: around 31%

5-character usernames became the main monetary center of the week. This segment generated the largest trading volume — around 194 thousand TON. It received a strong boost from the sale of @bocai for 118,888 TON, which became the largest deal of the week.

At the same time, 5-character usernames also preserved mass-market liquidity: 1 690 transactions is one of the highest figures in the market. This confirms the previous status of the 5-character format as the main working layer for regular trading.

But the week also showed that there is still a huge gap inside the segment between ordinary 5-character combinations and strong usernames. The ordinary level may remain around 100 TON, while selected high-quality names can sell for tens or even hundreds of thousands of TON.

4-character usernames — premium segment with fewer transactions

  • transactions: 31

  • average price: 5,200 TON

  • trading volume: 159,700 TON

  • volume share: around 26%

4-character usernames preserved their status as a premium segment. Just 31 transactions generated almost 160 thousand TON in turnover. This once again shows that even a small number of sales in the 4-character segment can form a significant part of the weekly market.

But compared with the previous week, the influence of the 4-character segment declined. This category showed volume of 166,600 TON and a 63% decline. This means the week was less dependent on 4-character sales than before.

4 characters remain the main status format, but this week’s market was broader: capital was distributed between 5-, 4-, 6-, and 9-character usernames.

6-character usernames — most liquid segment of the week

  • transactions: 1 946

  • average price: 42 TON

  • trading volume: 81,700 TON

  • volume share: around 13%

6-character usernames became the most liquid segment by number of transactions. There were 1 946 sales here — more than in any other length-based segment.

The average price of around 42 TON shows that the segment remains accessible, while volume above 80 thousand TON confirms broad demand. It is especially important that a large 6-character sale also happened this week: @fushao for 13,666 TON.

This is a good signal for the segment: 6 characters remain not only a mass-market entry level, but also a zone where strong words, names, or brandable combinations can command a noticeable premium.

9-character usernames — unexpected strong segment of the week

  • transactions: 668

  • average price: 119 TON

  • trading volume: around 82,000 TON

  • volume share: around 13%

9-character usernames became one of the main surprises of the week. The 9-character category showed volume of 82,000 TON and growth of 201%.

The main reason for this strengthening was large sales of meaningful and recognizable usernames. @celebrity sold for 50,000 TON, and @president sold for 12,000 TON. Both usernames are longer than the classic short premium formats, but they have strong meaning, recognizability, and commercial potential.

This is an important signal: length remains important, but a strong word can compensate for greater length. This is especially true when the username is universal, clear, and usable in media, branding, or public positioning.

7- and 8-character usernames — stable mass-market turnover

The 7-character segment belongs to the mass market but is already more selective. As length increases, meaning, readability, and natural word form matter more, so high-quality names separate more clearly from random combinations.

8 characters:

  • transactions: 731

  • average price: 51 TON

  • trading volume: 37,300 TON

The 8-character segment remains an accessible mass-market layer with broad supply. At this length, scarcity alone rarely creates a premium; value depends more strongly on meaning, readability, and practical usability.

7 characters:

  • transactions: 880

  • average price: 39 TON

  • trading volume: 34,300 TON

7- and 8-character usernames preserved stable mass-market activity. These segments did not become the main centers of capital, but they generated a noticeable flow of transactions.

The 8-character segment looked slightly stronger in terms of average price and volume. The sale of @burberry for 15,000 TON strengthened the Luxury brands category and showed that branded or recognizable 8-character usernames can sell significantly above the segment’s average level.

7 characters remained a more mass-market and accessible level. Here, readability, meaning, and the quality of the specific word are important. Random combinations have limited potential, but strong words can still be interesting for buying and resale.

10–12 characters — lower price zone of the market

10 characters:

  • transactions: 482

  • average price: 23 TON

11 characters:

  • transactions: 341

  • average price: 31 TON

12 characters:

  • transactions: 206

  • average price: 26 TON

Longer segments again remained the most accessible mass-market zone of the market. The lowest average price this week was in 10-character usernames — around 23 TON.

But a low price by itself does not make a username undervalued. In longer segments, meaning, readability, absence of random letter combinations, and usability as a name for a project, channel, product, or personal brand are especially important.

Market structure

  • 5 characters became the main center of capital

  • 4 characters preserved their premium status

  • 6 characters became the most liquid segment by number of sales

  • 9 characters strengthened sharply because of large meaningful sales

  • 7–8 characters formed stable mass-market turnover

  • 10–12 characters remained the most accessible entry point

  • top sales again had a strong influence on volume distribution

Most affordable segment

The most affordable mass-market entry point this week again appears to be longer usernames in the 10–12 character range.

  • 10 characters: average entry point around 23 TON

  • 11 characters: average entry point around 31 TON

  • 12 characters: average entry point around 26 TON

This is the cheapest mass-market layer of the market. But a low price by itself does not make a username a good purchase.

In longer segments, the following factors are especially important:

  • readability

  • meaning

  • absence of random letter combinations

  • brand potential

  • clear thematic value

  • usability as a name for a project, channel, or product

Long usernames can be a good entry point, but only with careful selection. Buying a username simply because it is cheap, without clear meaning, remains a riskier strategy.

It is also worth noting separately that minimum prices in mass-market categories remain low. For 5-, 6-, 7-, 8-, and 10-character usernames, the lower boundary is roughly in the 4–5 TON range. But the real value of a strong username is determined not only by the minimum price in the category, but by the quality of the word itself, demand for it, and how easily such a username can be resold.

Largest deals of the week

@bocai — 118,888 TON (≈ $225,887)

@celebrity — 50,000 TON (≈ $95,000)

@burberry — 15,000 TON (≈ $28,500)

@fushao — 13,666 TON (≈ $25,965)

@president — 12,000 TON (≈ $22,800)

The week’s top sales show that the market is ready to pay a premium not only for short length, but also for recognizability, meaning, brand potential, and public usability.

@bocai

Bocai can be interpreted as pinyin for the Chinese 博彩 (bócǎi), meaning gambling, betting, or lotteries, although without Chinese characters that reading is not completely unambiguous. If that was the intended meaning, the combination of a short 5-character form and a large betting niche helps explain the commercial appeal. Assets like this may be especially understandable to Chinese-speaking investors and collectors and can be an additional signal of interest in Telegram/Fragment assets more broadly, although one sale alone does not prove a broad inflow of Chinese capital.

@celebrity

@celebrity for 50,000 TON was a strong 9-character sale. The word celebrity means a famous person and has high recognizability in media, entertainment, blogging, show business, and personal branding. The username is longer than the classic premium format, but its universal meaning and commercial usability make this price logical.

@burberry

Burberry is a British luxury fashion house known for clothing, accessories, and its signature check pattern. @burberry therefore has a specific premium-fashion association and high brand recognition, while independent commercial use is tied to the rights of the existing brand.

@fushao

Fushao looks like a pinyin-style romanization of Chinese, but without Chinese characters and tone marks it cannot be translated unambiguously because the same syllables may correspond to different words. The meaning of @fushao is therefore uncertain without additional context. At the same time, a pinyin-like form may be more accessible to Chinese-speaking investors and collectors and potentially broaden demand; together with @bocai, it can be viewed as a possible—but not conclusive—signal of Chinese-speaking interest in Telegram/Fragment.

@president

@president for 12,000 TON was another important 9-character sale. The word president has a strong public, political, and status-related association. Despite its greater length, the username remains commercially clear and universal: it can be used in media, political content, satirical projects, personal branding, or status positioning.

The most notable thematic categories of the week by volume and momentum were:

  • Mnemonic Club — 33,300 TON, +88%

Among thematic categories, the following stood out in particular:

  • Luxury brands — 15,500 TON

  • Female first names — 14,800 TON, +24%

  • Top Nouns — 13,500 TON, +648%

  • Professions — 12,000 TON, +2 000%

  • Male first names — 8,200 TON, +27%

  • Top Verbs — 7,600 TON, +123%

  • German Nouns — 1,300 TON, −65%

Among thematic categories, Luxury brands, female and male first names, Top Nouns, Professions, and Top Verbs looked the most noticeable. The +2 000% growth in Professions looks striking, but in smaller categories, percentages like this can result from only a few transactions.

Weekly summary

During the period from May 16 to May 22, 2026, the market recorded:

  • 7 444 transactions

  • 625,600 TON in turnover

  • a median price of 84 TON

  • transaction count growth of 25.3%

  • a decline in total trading volume in TON of 8.0%

  • a decline in median price of 26.3%

  • strengthening of the 5-character segment

  • maximum liquidity in the 6-character segment

  • a decline in the role of 4-character usernames compared with the previous week

  • unexpectedly strong activity in 9-character usernames

  • the most accessible entry point in the 10–12 character range

This week, the Telegram username market became more liquid, but less premium in terms of average transaction structure. The number of sales increased to 7 444, while total volume declined to 625,600 TON, and the median price fell to 84 TON.

The main shift of the week was the move in leadership toward 5-character usernames. The sale of @bocai for 118,888 TON made the 5-character segment the main center of capital this week.

At the same time, 6-character usernames became the most liquid segment by number of transactions, while 9-character usernames unexpectedly strengthened because of meaningful sales such as @celebrity and @president.

The week showed that the Fragment market remains active, but increasingly depends not only on length, but also on the quality of the specific username. A short format is important, but a strong word, recognizability, brand potential, and commercial usability can generate a high price even in longer segments.

Based on the current market structure, the following scenarios appear most likely:

  • continued high activity by number of transactions

  • competition between 5- and 4-character usernames for volume leadership

  • continued high liquidity in the 6-character segment

  • cautious continuation of interest in strong 9-character words

  • total volume remaining dependent on several large sales above 10,000 TON

  • high volatility in thematic categories

  • pressure on dollar-denominated volume if the TON price remains weak

After a week with growth in transaction count, the market may maintain a high level of liquidity. But for total volume to grow, new major sales are needed in the 4-, 5-, or 9-character segments.

The main factor for next week is whether new deals above 50,000 TON appear. If such sales happen, the market may again look strong in terms of volume. If not, activity may remain high, but total turnover will likely stay in a more moderate range.

It is especially important to watch 5-character usernames. After the @bocai sale, this segment again showed that it can be not only mass-market, but also premium. If new strong 5-character sales appear, the category may preserve its leadership.
